Post-acute infectious diseases

This call is directed at researchers in Vienna, who seek to address post-acute infectious diseases, such as Myalgic Encephalomyelitis & Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

Strongly encouraged are interdisciplinary projects across biomedical, computer and clinical sciences

This first call is dedicated to small exploratory research projects aiming to generate preliminary data targeting ME/CFS. Other infectious diseases, e.g. COVID, can also be targeted.

A second following call should be later launched for the accepted projects to “consolidate” this first “explorative phase”.

Funding size per project is € 100.000, for a duration of 12 up to 15 months. Due to the small size nature of those exploratory projects, there will not be any overhead costs. A maximum of 40 % of the budget can be dedicated to non-personal costs.

This is a 1-step call, with the deadline for full proposals: 180624

The projects are submitted online, via the WWTF Funding Portal.

Call specifications are available here.

For interested applicants, an online session was held by the WWTF on the 260324. Find the record of this session here: https://vimeo.com/927595394?share=copy
