Company agreement "Whistleblower system"

The rectorate and both works council committees were able to conclude a company agreement on the implementation of a whistleblower system at the end of July after intensive negotiations.

On the basis of the Whistleblower Protection Act - HSchG (Federal Act on the Procedure and Protection in Case of Information on Violations of the Law in Certain Areas of Law), BOKU, as a legal entity under public law, is obliged to set up an internal reporting system.

A positive and open organisational culture at BOKU includes not only compliance with legal and internal requirements, but also the responsible handling of indications of suspected misconduct and/or breaches of rules. Serious information helps us to counteract misconduct and/or breaches of rules at an early stage and to prevent damage to BOKU, our employees, stakeholders, business and cooperation partners and other persons professionally connected with BOKU.

Based on the company agreement, a web-based whistleblowing system has been implemented (https://boku.academic-whistleblower.at/ ), which offers the possibility of anonymous communication. Reports are always made voluntarily and are treated strictly confidentially.

Further information on the whistleblower system can be found at https://boku.ac.at/recht/compliance/hinweisgeber-system .

We are very pleased as employers and works council members that we can look back on successful negotiations in good agreement and that this company agreement is now in force (publication in the newsletter of 24.8.2023).
