Guest professor Prof. Ing. Tomáš Lošák, Ph.D. (Mendel University in Brno, Czech Republic)

He will execute lectures on "Plant nutrition with a special emphasis on horticultural crops". He will stay from the 10th to the 14th of December 2018. You are warmly welcome to participate in his courses (a.o. 10.12.18: Fertilisation of crops – practical aspects, 11:00-13:15, GMH HS IX; 11.12.18: Ernährung von Gemüse, 10:30-12:45, GMH HS XII; 12.12.18: Plant nutrition of vegetables, 10:00-12:00, GMH HS IV; Plant nutrition of horticultural plants under stress, 13:00-15:00, GMH HS XI).

Prof. Tomáš Lošák is professor of Agrochemistry and Plant Nutrition. He is interested in plant nutrition and fertilization of arable crops, vegetables, orchards, and vineyards. He studies the effects of different mineral and organic fertilizers on the yield, its quality and environmental impacts (leaching of nutrients, especially nitrate nitrogen). Sulphur is the favourite nutrient in his field or pot experiments. The soil (as a non-renewable natural resource) and its fertility, care and analyses are his other scientific topics. He is the expert for use of digestates from biogas plants for fertilization of crops, too.
