Faculty of Forest Sciences and Forest Ecology at the University of Göttingen

Professorship of Forest Economics and Sustainable Land-use Planning Faculty of Forest Sciences and Forest Ecology at the University of Göttingen Professorship (BesGr. W3 NBesO) supported by the Federal & State Program to promote study conditions and teaching quality. The position starts on 011017. The incumbent will represent the complete fields of forest economics and land-use planning in research and teaching. It is expected that the professor will closely collaborate with partners from the forestry sector. The professor is furthermore expected to strengthen the economic research within the following research priority areas of the faculty: “Utilization of Forests and Forest Products” and “Sustainable Forestry and Global Change”. Finally, we expect that the incumbent will actively contribute to international research and collaborative research projects. Teaching assignments include courses for bachelor and master students of the faculty in the fields of forest economics and sustainable land-use planning. Lessons are to be taught mainly in German and partly in English. We expect that the successful candidate will actively participate in adjusting the orientation of the offered courses of the faculty towards a stronger international profile. Conditions for appointment are laid down in § 25 of the Higher Education Law of Lower Saxony. As a Public Law Foundation, the University of Göttingen holds the right of appointment.
