Highest national honor for BOKU chemist

Prof. Dr. Paul Kosma, head of the Division of Organic Chemistry at the BOKU Department of Chemistry, was awarded the “Austrian Cross of Honor for Science and Art, 1st class”, the highest national recognition of merits in science.

As an internationally renowned carbohydrate chemist, Paul Kosma has been working in the border area of synthetic organic and structural chemistry, glyco(bio)chemistry and immunology. He established and developed glycochemical research at BOKU, and led it to today´s international top position.
