Researchers of University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences receive Award for their contribution at the 2nd World Symposium on Climate Change Communication, held in Graz 2-9 February 2018. Their presentation „Target-group oriented natural hazard communication“ by Karin Weber (ILAP) and Susanna Wernhart (IAN) highlights the necessity to take into account target-group oriented needs when communicating risks according to natural hazards and climate change. Results from the project CCCapMig – Climate change adaptation and protection from natural hazards: capacity building for people with migration background in Austria – were presented in this context.

Several institutions of BOKU took part in this interdisciplinary event (Center for Global Change and Sustainability, BOKU-Met, ILEN) and used the opportunity to discuss climate change communication and information strategies with international participants working in the fields of research, administration, development and art.

Special thanks to the organizing institutions Research and Transfer Centre “Sustainable Development and Climate Change Management” of the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (Germany), Manchester Metropolitan University, University of Graz, Austria and the International Climate Change Information Programme (ICCIP) in collaboration with a set of organisations and all participants.
