Dr. Stefano D’Amico from the Institute of Food Technology was awarded for his poster with the title "Selection criteria for wheat varieties as basis for a new gluten reference material".

The 1st ICC Asia-Pacific Grains Conference (APGC) took place in Xiamen, a beautiful coastal city in southeast China, May 21-24, 2017 and attracted over 500 participants from all over the world.

Dr. Stefano D’Amico from the Institute of Food Technology was awarded for his poster with the title "Selection criteria for wheat varieties as basis for a new gluten reference material".

Together with Dr. Sandor Tömösközi from the University of Technology and Economics in Budapest and Dr. Katharina Scherf from the Technical University in Munich coordinated by the MoniQua Association a novel gliadin standard will be developed for gluten quantification and calibration of referring ELISA Kits.

Today gluten determination is still a big challenge due to a missing official reference material.
