ÖGMBT Doctoral Thesis Award
Dr. Michael Traxlmayr was decorated with the Doctoral Thesis Award 2013 of the Austrian Association of Molecular Life Sciences and Biotechnology (ÖGMBT), sponsored by the company Polymun. He performed his PhD thesis at the Department of Chemistry (Division of Biochemistry) within the Christian Doppler Laboratory for Antibody Engineering. Results of his work entitled “Stability engineering of IgG1-Fc by random mutagenesis and in vitro directed evolution" have been published in the following international journals:

In 2013 Dr. Traxlmayr obtained a Schrödinger grant from the Austrian Sience Fund (FWF). Currently he works at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research, Division of Chemical Engineering with Prof. K. Dane Wittrup. Title of his project: “A hyperstable minimalist protein for molecular recognition“. 2016 he will return ti the Department of Chemistry at BOKU.
