Definition and solution of user-conflicts in the Schneeberg region – value-added regional potential

Procedure of the workshop

1. Group work with the guidance of a moderator (G. Weiss)

For the first hour seven topics/potential areas of user-conflics have been identified. These are:

• forestry/timber production
• protection (security against natural forces)
• hunting
• nature conservation
• recreation/tourism
• water management
• grazing

Up to seven groups (3 students each) will be established and assigned one of the topics.
The work to be done in the first hour includes:

• definition of potential conflicts (with the other areas)
• suggestions for conflict solutions
• conflict solutions as a potential for local/regional (value-added) rural development

2. Presentation and Discussion with the guidance of a moderator (G. Weiss)

In the second hour the groups will briefly present their results to the plenary and discuss them with the help of a moderator.
