  • Mongolian State University of Agriculture

    was founded in 1942 as "Faculty of Veterinary" under the National University of Mongolia and gained independence in 1958. MSUAs mission is to maintain the lead position in academic education, modern research and technology advancement in the priority fields of rural development in Mongolia. It is a comprehensive, full-fledged university with 8 schools and 36 departments; with 7063 undergraduate and 1045 graduate students (of which 33 are international students), and a total staff of 893. MSUA has 69 bilateral agreements and is currently involved in 9 international projects, in the TEMPUS programme as well as in Canadian (CIDA) and Japanese research funding programmes.

    founded in 1956, has established long-term cooperative ties with many educational and research institutions, international organisations, and industrial enterprises from all around the world. Cooperation activities are undertaken in various forms such as joint training and research programmes, student and staff exchange programmes (e.g. within the Asia-Lonk or AUNP programmes). These programmes made significant contributions to the development of HUT as a leading university in Vietnam. With the rapid increase of scientific and technological progress in recent years, HUT has extended its communications and collaborations with more and more education institutions all over the world and especially those in the region of South East Asia.

    Established in October 1976, the University of Economics, Hochiminh City (UEH) has been continuously developing and has now become a multidisciplinary university in the fields of Economics and Management. Currently, eleven faculties offer five training majors - specialized into 22 disciplines - for Bachelor, Master and Doctoral levels with nearly 50,000 students enrolled. Besides, UEH's services are supported and diversified by 15 research institutes and centers. As a leading training and research center in Vietnam, particularly in the South, UEH has contributed to economic transition process and knowledge-economy orientation. UEH is now recognized as one of the 14 key national universities in Vietnam. Sixteen international programs are reflecting the close relationships of UEH with nearly thirty universities or research institutes from 15 countries and regions.

    was established on October 1996 as the first university in Lao PDR by consolidating colleges and higher educational organisations that had been operated independently by ministries. Asia Development Bank (ADB) has been implementing a project that aims at the developing Curriculum and upgrading quality of lecturers at NUOL. NUOL is a member of ASEAN University Network (AUN), Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF), Greater Mekong Sub-region for Academic & Research Network (GMSARN) and the ASEAN Universities Network-Society for Engineering Education Development Network (AUN-SEED-Net).

    is a public, research-oriented university that has recently been ranked among the top-three research universities and top-ten teaching universities in Thailand by the Ministry of Education. It was established 16 years ago at Nakhon Ratchasima province in north-eastern Thailand according to the Royal Thai government policy to promote the creation of higher education opportunities in regional and rural areas. It is the first autonomous state university that has high levels of independence and flexibility, the ability to develop its own organization and work system, and to use existing resources to the most benefit with economy. SUT has 8,883 students and 289 teaching staff. Its main teaching and research fields are Life Science and Technology including Agricultural Technology, and Medical Sciences. SUT has signed a number of MoU with universities in EU and is active in regional and worldwide university networks such as AUAP, ASEA-UNINET, WACE, IAU, and ASAIHL.

    is the second oldest university in Thailand and is one of the leading institutions for higher education in the country and SE Asia. The main campus offers mainly master and doctoral programmes in social sciences, law and political sciences. Undergraduate courses and science/technology faculties are based at Rangsit Campus approximately 50 km north of Bangkok. TU has always been a dynamic proponent of social change and has fostered many poltically and socially active students. Alumni include many prime ministers and prominent government officials of Thailand, which will also help to diseminate project activitites widely in the country.

  • Chiang Mai University

    The Faculty of Agriculture, Chiang Mai University, has been involved in various international cooperation projects in research, education and training, particularly with Germany, Japan, USA and Taiwan. The largest program is a Thai-Vietnamese-German collaborative research program on "Sustainable Land Use and Rural Development in Mountainous Regions of SE Asia" started in July 2000. This program with a maximum duration of 12 years and an annual budget of 1.7 mio. Euro was initiated by a German university with Chiang Mai University as the main partner in Thailand. It is jointly funded by the German Research Foundation and the National Research Council of Thailand.

    The University of Tadulako was founded in 1981 and is the major institution of higher education in Central Sulawesi. The University aim is to lead the development of education, research and community services across its region by continuously enhancing the quality of all activities, and by developing international and regional alliances. Tadulako University consists of seven faculties (Agriculture, Economics, Law, Socio and Political sciences, Engineering, Teaching Training, Mathematics and Natural sciences). Tadulako University today has 12,649 students with 1,093 academic and 563 non-academic staff.

  • Faculty of Economics Padjadjaran University

    Universitas Padjadjaran's Master Program in Applied Economics was established in 2003 as one division in economics specializing in applied economics, and is run by the Department of Economics, established in 1957. This Department has conducted various cooperations with international institutions such as USAID, Ford Foundation, Asian Development Bank, DAAD, World Bank, EEPSEA and other institutions in form of research, training, conference and exchange students and lecturer. Currently, the Department of Economics has 40 lecturers.

    is a key national comprehensive university, which is mainly characterized by agriculture, forestry and water conservancy. The university dates from the National Northwest Junior College of Agriculture and Forestry that was established in 1934. It consists of seven formerly independent institutions that consolidated in September of 1999. NWAFU is one of universities that enter into Project "211"(Project "211" is the Chinese government's new endeavor aimed at strengthening about 100 institutions of higher education and key disciplinary areas as a national priority for the 21st century) and Project "985" (In May 1998, the Ministry of Education initiated a project of building world-leading universities in China; several top universities received special three-year grants for quality improvement).

    NanJing Agricultural University

    The College of Public Administration (CPA) at Nanjing Agricultural University is the major institute for education in resource and environmental economics and land management in South China. The research activities at CPA are concentrated in the Centre for Resource & Environmental Economics Study (CREE-NAU) and the China Centre for Land Policy Research (CCLP-NJAU). Both institutes are also involved in several research activities in international projects, such as Asia-link project (VN/Asia-Link/013/112629) with Wageningen University and Institute of Social Studies (ISS), Humboldt University in Berlin, and University of Economic in Ho Chi Minh city in Vietnam, the EU-INCO projects (ERB IC18-CT98-0281 and ICA4-CT-2002-10025) and the SAIL programme of The Netherlands government, Ministry of Development Co-operation.
