Activities in EURASIA
Main Activities:
* The project will contribute to increase human capital in the following subject areas: environmental and natural resource management, environmental biotechnology, Agricultural Sciences; Forestry; Food Science and Biotechnology; Environmental Sciences: Landscape Architecture and Planning; Architecture, Urban and Regional Planning; Business Studies and Management Sciences; Economics, Engineering, Technology; Geography, Geology; Law; Natural Sciences; Social Sciences; and, to a lesser extent, also in the fields of Education, Teacher Training; Medical Sciences and other Areas of Study.
* The area of sustainable environmental and natural resource management including Life Sciences in its broadest sense as well as economics will be strengthened in the target countries, both in teaching and in research, through close and strong collaboration and interaction between the partners engaged in this project.
* Young staff members and researchers from the target countries will receive a profound and in-depth education in these scientific areas through this project, and then can apply this knowledge in education or research at their home institutions/in their home countries.
* Information on the Bologna System and ECTS scheme will be exchanged and disseminated.
* The selection of 3 additional optional countries as partners in the call as well as the participation of 8 EU countries guarantees wide dissemination of know-how achieved through mobility in Asia and Europe and the establishment of a strong academic network active in teaching and research.
* The mobility scheme foreseen is with 150 persons higher than the minimum numbers of mobilities of a special type and of a certain target group required.
* All participating B.Sc. and M.Sc.-students who are exchanged for a short-term period will receive full transcripts of their studies using the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS).
* All students completing a full degree at the host university will get a transcript that meets the standards of a Diploma Supplement.
* The research part of the project (PhD-level, post-docs, academic staff) will concentrate on research in the field of sustainable environmental and natural resource management including Life Sciences in its broadest sense as well as economics.
* A increasing international atmosphere will be created at the involved higher education institutions through exchange of university personnel teaching at the partner institutions.
* The sustainability of the project will be supported by drafting future research projects in collaboration with local associated organizations, which will offer graduating B.Sc. and M.Sc.-and PhD- students job opportunities and support research at post-doc and academic staff level.
