Best practices and challenges for Austrian scientists 

Get first hand information on current funding opportunities regarding scientific or educational cooperation with Latin America. Experts from FFG, OeAD and Lateinamerika Institut will give an overview on

-          the current state of cooperations between Austria and Latin America

-          current FP7-Calls targeting Latin America

-          funding opportunities for Higher Education cooperations with Latin America

Best practice- presentations of successful projects will conclude the programme.

Political backdrop:

Strengthening the ties between Europe and Latin America and the Carribean (LAC) in the fields of innovation, science and technology is a clear focus of to the European Commission (EC).  For example, this year´s EU-LAC summit passed an Action Plan for the years 2010-2012 which, inter alia, aims at developing an “EU-LAC Knowledge Area”. The current FP7-Calls also contribute to themes advocated by the EU-LAC summit and therefore are of high interest for Latin American Partners.
