| EU NONEMA PROJECT
The fourth project meeting was held at the Institute of Plant Protection on 16th and 17th of May. 40 participants from the 11 partner institutions performed an interesting and successful meeting with a number of scientific highlights. The NONEMA project partner study the molecular basis of plant - nematode interactions and work on the development of strategies to engineer resistance against plant parasitic nematodes. As a result of the project promising insights into pathogenicity factors of nematodes were gained and specific plant responses were found both offering good chances to serve as targets for resistance development. With this project the EU supports the research activities of Europe´s leading nematological research groups. We would like to thank our co-organizer, the Bundesgärten Österreich, who contributed considerably to the success of the meeting.
