OeAD Country Talk Central Asia

The photo exhibition »The Individual Collective Memory of Koryo-saram« is dedicated to the history of the ethnic Korean minority in Central Asia and their memories, fates and transience. The photojournalist Viktor An (1947, Tashkent), himself a Koryo-saram, captured their lives in atmospheric and empathic pictures through his objective. The 20 works of Viktor An, are complemented by 6 photos  by Dina  Lee  (1981,  a  Koryo-saram  living  in  Vienna) who explores cultural identity and historical legacy of an individual through portraiture .
