The University of Agronomic Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of Bucharest and its partners within the ENHANCE project are honoured to inform that the registrations for the third USAMV BUCHAREST AGRICULTURAL ECONOMICS AND POLICY SUMMER SCHOOL have started. The third ENHANCE Summer School is entitled “Institutional Economics and Agricultural Development” and will take place at USAMV Bucharest from 17-21 September 2018. The lecturers will come from Germany, from IAMO (Leibniz Institute of Agricultural Development in Transition Economies) and aim to introduce the various concepts of defining and conceptualizing economic institutions, focusing especially on institutions of natural resource use, agricultural production and agricultural markets. Theoretical and empirical analyses of institutions’ role in land use decisions, access to agricultural inputs, transactions, and cooperation will be presented and jointly critically discussed. Finally, various conceptual approaches to the theory of institutional change will be introduced. The five days of intensive courses entail theoretical and practical activities, group work and presentations, cultural and social visit, field trips, providing learning and networking opportunities for course participants and lecturers. The official language of the course is English. Application deadline: 31 May.
 
The target group that the event addresses includes:

  • Postgraduate students (Masters or PhD students) in the field of agricultural economics and policy, who are familiar with introductory levels of microeconomics.
  • Young researchers with an educational background in economics, management, marketing or other social sciences disciplines applied to agriculture.
  • Young professionals from governmental institutions (ministries, authorities and agencies), non-governmental organizations related to agriculture who need a refresher course in scientific working.
