The UN Secretary Generals Climate Resilience Initiative (A2R) in collaboration with the MIT Climate CoLab launched a contest entitled "Anticipating climate Hazards." Deadline: Friday, Feb 10, 2017 at 18:00:00 PM Eastern Standard Time


The contest aims to seek proposals from all over the world on what to do about climate change and in particular anticipating climate hazards. We would like to invite you to enter the contest and contribute solutions to addressing global climate change.

In collaboration with the United Nations Secretary-General’s Climate Resilience Initiative: Anticipate, Absorb, Reshape (A2R), this contest invites solutions for how we should prepare and respond to climate extremes and climate hazards. A2R is a new global, multi-stakeholder initiative which will accelerate action on the ground to enhance climate resilience of the most vulnerable countries and people by 2020.  The focus of the contest is to address the flowing:

  • What can we do to make sure action is taken before crises?
  • What new tools can be used to incentivize households, communities, or governments to take action?
  • What early actions can people take to ensure that vulnerable communities are prepared for climate-related threats?
  • How can communities’ best prepare for climate-related hazards?

This is the first in a planned series of contests for the UN Secretary General's Climate Resilience Initiative A2R (Anticipate, Absorb, Reshape)
