The Conference on Environment and Sustainable Development is taking place in Vienna International
Centre, one of the official compounds of United Nations, from 17th to 22nd April 2016 as a cooperation between UNEP Vienna, the Secretariat of the Carpathian Convention, the Academic Forum of Foreign Affairs and AEGEE Vienna, a side branch of the European Students' Forum. Be part of this Model United Nations conference, where you will have the opportunity to gain an insight into the work of UNEP and other international organisations.

As a participant you can either step into the position of a diplomat or an expert representing a country and it will be your task to negotiate, write and agree upon a convention together with the rest. To achieve a realistic outcome, the Carpathian Convention and a draft covenant of IUCN will serve as a basis. The new resolution formed by the all participants will embody a blueprint for the protection and preservation of vulnerable, fragile and unique landscapes and climate change mitigation.

On the first day experts of UNEP will explain their work and the important role of the organization. In
addition, a number of workshops from climate and environmental experts will take place. In the breaks, at the specially organised Fair, you will be able to obtain further information about the work of the exhibiting organizations as well as education and career opportunities
