EUA will organise the webinar covering some of the latest developments in academic recognition. The webinar will take place on 24 February 2016 at 14.00 CET and is open to all EUA members.

Recognition of academic qualifications is an essential step towards the fulfilment of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA), as well as a necessary condition for the successful academic mobility of students. With the ratification of the Lisbon Recognition Convention (1997), most EHEA countries officially committed to align their recognition processes. More recently, at the ministerial meeting in May 2015 in Yerevan, Armenia, participants highlighted considerable progress, but found that obstacles still exist.

In the webinar, Howard Davies, EUA Senior Adviser, together with Jenneke Lokhoff, Policy Officer at EP-NUFFIC, will present the work of recent European projects on recognition to which EUA has contributed, such as EAR-HEI, STREAM and FAIR. They will also discuss the role of universities in the recognition process and the challenges they encounter.

The webinar is aimed at admissions, credential and international officers working in universities and those in charge of formulating institutional strategies on related matters. More information on the EUA Webinar
