What is AgroParisTech ?
Recognized as the leading French Graduate School in Technology for Life, Food and
Environmental Sciences, AgroParisTech has a tradition of more than 150 years.
It is a member of ParisTech, a consortium of the best French Graduate Institutes in Sciences &
Engineering (“Grandes Écoles”).

Objectives and content :
Get into the French agricultural system, research, education and extension systems through
lectures by Professors of AgroParisTech and high level speakers from the political, institutional
and business world. Students and professors from Penn State University will attend the summer
university.
Among others, following topics are raised:

  • French agricultural Policy (positions towards CAP, WTO)
  • Food Quality/Safety Policies
  • GMO Issues
  • Crop Protection & Pesticides Management


Site visits like the Champagne vineyards, Wine High School, Versailles Kitchen Gardens, European biggest wholesale food Market at Rungis, and Organic Farm are included.

Students may create their own agenda for evenings and weekends.

All lectures and visits are given in English

AgroParisTech will provide accommodation in an attractive area of Paris and at a very
competitive price (La Cité Universitaire )

Admission requirements: Being at least in senior year (last year of Bachelor degree) in a curriculum
related to agriculture, life sciences, environment or agricultural economics.

Program fee: 600 € for students from partner universities / 800 € for other applicants.

Application deadline: April 1st, 2016.

The Summer University is limited to 20 students.

Expenses
All costs are approximate based on the cost of the 2014 summer program.
Program fee: 600 € for students from partner universities / 800 € for other applicants
Lodging: 300 € (Two Weeks at Cite International)
Food: 220-350 €
Train Fare from CDG Airport to Paris: 20€ (And return at conclusion)
Metro Transportation: 35 € (Two week pass)
