The Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra is in the final stage of building the Research Centre AgroBioTech and is ready to offer a unique opportunity for collaboration for all those interested in the latest trends, transfer of knowledge and innovations.

The Research Centre AgroBioTech will be equipped with a cutting-edge research infrastructure, thereby enabling the implementation of research at international Ievei, applicable in practice and in consistency with the core needs of the priority themes in agrobiology, biotechnology, genetic technology, agri-food, technology of processing of agricultural products, agroecology, bioenergy and bioeconomy.

The scope of the research cooperation with VUA partners could include applied research and/or preparation of joint research projects within the EU projects schemes such as Horizon 2020, 7FP and national research schemes in the area of applied research in plant and animal biotechnology, bioclimatology, chemistry and biochemistry, agronomy, horticulture, genetics, bioeconomy, biodiversity and related topics.

The newly established research centre would be a unique opportunity for doctoral and postdoctoral students, university researches and experts who could verify the theoretical knowledge learned at their home universities. lt is proposed that three main schemes would be used as funding resources:

  1. the national scholarship schemes in particular countries;
  2. the Horizon 2020 scheme Marie Sklodowska-Curie actions - Research Fellowship Programme
