Dear Incoming Students,
We hope that you are enjoying your stay at BOKU, and that you have settled into your life in Vienna.
From the 8th to the 11th May 2017 the “International Days” will take place, during which presentations about BOKU partner universities and exchange programmes will be held. The purpose of this event is to motivate current BOKU students to take part in a semester, or work placement abroad, and we would really appreciate your support in doing this.
On Wednesday 10th May, from 10:30 – 15:30 (or perhaps a shorter period), in the Schwackhöferhaus auditorium, we will host an “International Café” and we would ask you to organise and supervise a stall about your home university, and home country/region. Would you feel inspired to help us with this? If so:
· It would be great if you could prepare and bring a dish/dishes that your home country/country of home university is famous for (Ideally finger food, or something that does not have to be heated up or kept cool). Additionally, decorating your stand in a manner which reflects your country/region of the world using posters or photos or a slideshow (you can bring a laptop) would also be fantastic.
· The ZIB will ask your home universities for information materials, so you do not need to concern yourselves with obtaining these.
· You will get a budget of EUR 50 in order to cover the costs of the food and decorations (Please submit your receipts after the event).
· If you own traditional dress of your country / country of home university, and would be happy to wear it, then that’s even better!
· The ZIB will provide coffee, tea, water, cups and napkins.
In this way, all of those who take part will be able to enjoy a variety of specialties, encounter something from a different culture, and socialize with both Austrian and international students.
If you would like to participate and be in charge of a stall, please register by the 3rd of May 2017. To register, simply fill out the Excel sheet which is attached, and return it to Sophie at sjackson(at)groupwise.boku.ac.at. It would be easiest to register as a group, in order to organize a stall for a specific country or region (e.g. Sweden, Vietnam, etc. are country groups, and North America or South-East Asia can also be a group, depending), and in doing this please register all those who will take part in the Excel table. Of course you can register as one person, and then we can assign you to a group if you like.

Wir hoffen, dass ihr euren Aufenthalt an der BOKU genießt und euch schon gut in Wien eingelebt habt.
Von 08. bis 11. Mai 2017 finden an der BOKU die „Internationalen Tage“ mit Präsentationen zu BOKU-Partneruniversitäten und Austauschprogrammen statt. Ziel ist es, BOKU-Studierende zu einem Auslandssemester/-Praktikum zu motivieren, und wir würden uns sehr freuen, wenn ihr uns dabei unterstützt.
Habt ihr Lust und Zeit am Mittwoch, 10. Mai 2017 von 10:30-15:30 (oder auch kürzer) beim „International Café“ in der Schwackhöferhaus-Aula einen Stand über eure Uni bzw. euer/eure Land/Region zu gestalten und betreuen?
· Es wäre super, wenn ihr dazu landestypisches Essen (Fingerfood, das nicht gekühlt oder erhitzt werden muss, z.B. Kuchen, Kekse, etc.) vorbereiten und mitbringen könntet und euren Stand (Tisch und Pinnwand) kreativ dekorieren könntet (z.B.: Poster, Fotos, Zeichnungen, Laptop mit Slideshow, …). Das ZIB wird eure Unis bitten, uns Infomaterial zu schicken, d.h. ihr braucht bei eurer Uni keine Infos anfordern.
· Dazu bekommt jeder Stand ein Budget von max. EUR 50 (Abrechnung nach Rechnung) für Essen und Dekomaterial eures Standes.
· Wenn ihr traditionelle Kleidung aus eurem Land dabei habt und anziehen möchtet, umso besser!
· Das ZIB stellt Kaffee, Tee, Wasser, Becher und Servietten zur Verfügung.
So können alle TeilnehmerInnen diverse Spezialitäten genießen, verschiedene Kulturen kennenlernen und neue Kontakte mit österreichischen und internationalen Studierenden knüpfen.
Wenn ihr mitmachen und einen Stand betreuen möchtet, meldet euch bitte bis 3ten Mai 2017 an, indem ihr einfach die angehängte Excelliste ausgefüllt an Sophie schickt: sjackson(at)groupwise.boku.ac.at. Am einfachsten ist es, ihr meldet euch als Gruppe an, um einen Stand für ein/e bestimmte/s Land/Region (z.B. ein Stand für Schweden oder für Nordamerika oder für Südostasien…) zu gestalten (bitte alle Personen der Gruppe in die Excelliste eintragen!). Ihr könnt euch natürlich auch als Einzelperson melden und wir teilen euch dann einer Gruppe zu, wenn ihr möchtet.
