One of the things I recommend you most to do in Vienna is to come to the famous BOKU Ball! Inside the imperial palace, with everyone wearing either ball clothes or traditional dresses. On Monday the ticket same will start - be quick!!

-------------

Here are a few tips about Boku Ball and buying tickets for it:

  • Be early when buying the tickets - usually they are sold out within half a day or so! Sales start at 8a.m., so it is a good idea to get up and buy them at that time.

  • You can go for first year student tickets (23€) if you are here for the first semester (that includes all Incomings that are here this semester only!). I checked with the ÖH, just make sure to bring your student ID!

  • You can reserve the tickets here. Next you transfer the money to the proper account, and a few days later you can pick up the tickets at the ÖH with your confirmation of pay! Paying in cash is NOT possible.

  • It can be a good idea to buy some seats at the ball. You don't need to, but since it is a long evening and your shoes might not be the most comfortable ones, consider buying 1 or 2 seats if you go in a group (e.g. I usually buy 2 seats for me and my friends together). You can get them for just 5€ anyways. Sometimes you find free seats at the ball anyways though, so if your budget is tight, don't spend money on that.

  • Make sure you have a dress that at least covers your knees. Normally balls at Hofburg require that you wear a dress that goes to the ground, BokuBall is a bit more liberal, but still, no real short dresses. Otherwise you might not be let in.

  • Equally: don't forget your student ID when you go to the ball!! You will have to pay the regular price otherwise.

That's all for now :) More Info before the ball!

Also eine Überlegung wert.
