Curriculum - Courses

The curriculum offers information on all relevant questions about the study programme, including the courses that you have to take. It is legally binding.

Please always check the currently valid curriculum!

Students always graduate in the currently valid curriculum, NOT in the curriculum that they started with.

Transitional provisions/rules:

  • Students who are currently studying according to the curriculum 2015, will be able to graduate according to the curriculum 2015 until November 30, 2019. If you do not manage to graduate until 30.11.2019 (= last possible date of defense), you will be automatically transferred to the then valid curriculum.
  • It is also possible to switch voluntarily to the new master’s programme curriculum. Then you will have to make a new Individual course plan according to currently valid curriculum. An equivalence catalogue for the curriculum 2016 will be published soon. The equivalence catalogue makes sure that courses, which you have already taken according to a former curriculum but which are not part of the currently valid curriculum, will still be recognised. (But please be aware that it only refers to courses with exam dates, when the course was still part of the curriculum.)

 Former transitional rules:

  • Students who have started the NARMEE programme before SS 2012 could only graduate according to the curriculum 2011 until 30.09.2014.  If you did not graduate until 30.09.2014 (= last possible date of master examination), you were automatically transferred to the currently valid curriculum (=joint degree).
  • Students who started in winter semester 2012/13 or summer semester 2013 could graduate according to the curriculum 2012 until 29.02.2016 (double degree). If you did not graduate until 30.09.2014 (= last possible date of master examination), you were automatically transferred to the currently valid curriculum (=joint degree).
