How to go there by public transport ?
Public transport tickets are available in a <Tabak Trafik> (shops where you can buy newspapers and cigarettes, available also on the airport).
There are single tickets or 3-day tourist tickets, which include any public transportation in Vienna, except the buses from/to airport.
From Airport to <Westbahnhof> :
Take a bus (every 30min) from Airport to <Westbahnhof> (railway station west).
Travel time is about 30min.This bus costs about 7 euros.
Map 1 shows Vienna train and metro lines.
From <Westbahnhof> to BOKU-Met :
Take the metro line U6 at station <Westbahnhof>and leave at station <Währinger Strasse> (passing 5 stations).
Change to bus line No. 40A for opposite direction to the city center.
Leave at the stop <Dänenstrasse>.
From there it is 5 min walk to BOKU-Met. See also Map 2.
From Airport to the city and BOKU-Met there are also alternative routes, e.g. :
Take a bus to Vienna City Airport terminal (located in the center). Take metro U4 and U2 to <Schottentor>.
From there take bus No. 40A to station <Daenenstrasse>.
There is also a train from the airport to the center (station <Wien-Mitte>, same location as Vienna Airport terminal bus station),
but it takes more time.
A Taxi from the airport to BOKU-Met may cost about 30 euros.
