Our Mission
The European Working Group Downstream Processing stimulates advancement of the field downstream processing by providing a platform for communication, education and scientific activities. The working party is an interface between industry and academia toward EC-legislation.
The Workgroup Party Downstream Processing (WG-DP) is a body of the European Federation of Biotechnology (EFB) organized in the Section Biocehmical Engineering Science. The WG-DP deals with all scientific, industrial and society related issues of biotechnology with special emphasis on downstream processing. The Working Group is open for all, who are interested in the field of Downstream Processing. Each individual whose activities are related to downstream processing is eligible for adoption to the working group.

Usually the WG-DP members meet twice a year.
At the 1st meeting in 1999 as chairman Prof. Alois Jungbauer from the Institute for Applied Microbiology at theUniversity of Agricultural Sciences in Vienna, Austria has been elected for the period of the next two years.
