Our main focus is directed towards expression of functional proteins, viruses and virus like particles in bacteria, insect cells and mammalian cells. In the past, we have developed a widely used and very useful baculovirus display system. Based on this technology, the main projects are aiming at novel influenza vaccine design and gene delivery using baculovirus. These projects were and are funded by the „Österreichische Forschungsförderungsgesellschaft“ (FFG), and the EU. Further fundings by Boehringer Ingelheim Austria and Biomin GmbH support projects regarding DNA vaccine design and enzymatic detoxification, respectively.
