Forest Research for Development Partnership - FORED

FORED is a research partnership between Renewable Natural Resources Research Centre (RNR-RC) Jakar, Bumthang, Bhutan, and BOKU University, Institute of Forest Ecology, Vienna, Austria.
FORED is the continuation of the Conifer Research and Training Partnership - CORET.  The name change meant to reflect new priorities in pro-poor research and the inclusion of the broadleaf zone in the agenda.
The main objective of FORED is to provide a meaningful contribution to the overall RNR-sector objective to improve the livelihood of the people of Bhutan.
FORED aims to achieve this by carrying out human capacity building in forest research and by conducting pro-poor research on forests in Bhutan.  Specific FORED activities will aid sustainable land-use and nature conservation.

FORED is funded by the Austrian Development Agency and the Royal Government of Bhutan
