Program:

Program of Day 1

1.    Introduction

Welcome by P. Ruckenbauer; Introduction of the participants of this meeting and presentation of the scientific/commercial activities of the participating groups.

2.   Financial aspects

Overview of cost reimbursement rules of the EC by H. Buerstmayr. Accuracy in finances absolutely required.

3.    Detailed discussion of WP3

All scientific activities as well as deliverables and milestones of Workpackage 3 to be achieved within the first project year have been discussed in detail. The deliverables and milestones can be achieved.

4.   Consortium Agreement

Discussion of legal aspects which should be taken up in the Consortium Agreement.

The most important points are:

Regulation of the use of the wheat lines made available by the partners in the consortium for the screening nursery.

Confidentiality of the results; time laps in which results and plant material will be made available to third parties.

Further intellectual property options (e.g. patents) and user rights of new information and new materials will be discussed whenever necessary during the project meetings. If required the Consortium Agreement will be adapted.

Publishing scientific information: For agreement publications are distributed among all partners one month before publishing.

Proposal of the Consortium Agreement will be constructed by P1 and discussed during the next meeting in Ireland in March 21 to March 22, 2002

Consortium agreement of the project “Genome mapping and genetic studies of the resistance and pathogenicity in the wheat-Fusarium scab system” could be used and modified based on the general conditions specified in the model contract

Program of Day 2

5.    Detailed discussion of WP1

All scientific activities as well as deliverables and milestones of Workpackage 1 to be achieved within the first project year have been discussed in detail. Wherever necessary statistical layout of the experiments was standardized. Exchange of material (e.g. wheat lines, Fusarium strains…) was arranged. The deliverables and milestones can be achieved.

6.    Detailed discussion of WP2

All scientific activities as well as deliverables and milestones of Workpackage 2 to be achieved within the first project year have been discussed in detail. The deliverables and milestones can be achieved.

7.    General remarks

The next meeting in Ireland in March 21 and 22, 2002.

 8.    Networking with other EU-Projects (Mycotoxin cluster, cost projects)

Paul Nicholson will participate in the meeting of the ”EU-Project Prevention of Fusarium mycotoxins entering human and animal food chain” in Bari, Italy in February 2002

 9.    Miscellaneous

Public awareness ==> Poster, leaflets and website prepared by P I until end of February

Project partner and project cluster interaction ==> primarily by e-mail, newsgroups, webpage and conferences

Problems ==> Deadlines for reports will fall in field seasons end, which limits the presentation of complete field data for the previous research segment
