Virtual Private Network

Your long connection to BOKUnet

VPN - What Is It?

VPN (virtual private network) offers the possibility to access BOKUnet from computers outside of BOKU or via WLAN and data fueling stations within BOKU as if the computer were directly connected with BOKU's network (LAN, local area network).

This is done via an encrypted, secured network connection. Network components within BOKU, the administration of managing private key access for encryption and authentication as well as the installation and configuration of respective VPN client software on the PC are required.

The computer or notebook will then receive an IP address from within BOKU which means that all safety rules and access rights apply as if this computer were within the BOKUnet.
