Continuing education is a fundamental principle of European education policy and thus of the European university. It is addressed to all those with an interest in education.
Continuing education can be undertaken in parallel with professional occupation, and used for starting careers, vocational re-orientation as well as personal development.

Through our programs and courses, graduates acquire new and expand existing competencies, and can target new challenges and fields of work.

Categories

Category 1

  • University Continuing Education Programs (Universitätslehrgänge) of min. 90 ECTS
  • Degree: "Master of …"
  • Curriculum, examination regulations and documentation of learning success for completion
  • Admission requirements: Bachelor's degree from (inter)national University/University of Applied Sciences

Category 2

  • University Continuing Education Programs (Universitätslehrgänge) of min. 60 ECTS
  • Certificate: with academic title "Academic …" ("Akademische/r …") with an affix denoting essential contents of the program
  • Project paper or written home work (min. 10 ECTS)
  • Curriculum, examination regulations and documentation of learning success for completion
  • Alle 3 BOKU focus areas (natural sciences, technology, socioeconomics) must be represented in the program's teaching, science-related approach must be discernible, practical training/work elements must be included
  • Admission requirements: general matriculation standard or aequivalent (inter)national graduation,
    or (if appropriate) Master Craftsman's Certificate plus relevant professional occupation of several years

Category 3

  • University Continuing Education Programs (Universitätslehrgänge) of less than 60 ECTS
  • Abschluss: Teilnahmezertifikat
  • Curriculum, examination regulations and documentation of learning success for completion
  • Alle 3 BOKU focus areas (natural sciences, technology, socioeconomics) must be represented in the program's teaching, science-related approach must be discernible, practical training/work elements must be included
  • Admission requirements: general matriculation standard or aequivalent (inter)national graduation,
    or (if appropriate) Master Craftsman's Certificate plus relevant professional occupation of several years

Category 4

  • University Continuing Education Courses (seminars, summer academies etc.)
  • Abschluss: Teilnahmezertifikat
  • no Curriculum, examination regulations or documentation of learning success required
  • Topical fields typical for BOKU's scope shall be represented in the program's teaching, science-related approach must be discernible, practical training/work elements must be included
  • Admission requirements: none
