This course is designed to review basic English grammar and is particularly suited for students who have attained Matura level English, but are in need of revision or additional practice. The course focuses on detailed explanations of the different verb tenses through various grammar exercises in class and at home. Present, past, future, conditional, passive and modal verbs are discussed and practised. Guidelines for the correct use of tenses will be provided and sentences will be analyzed in terms of those guidelines. Students are encouraged to put these rules into practise by formulating exemplary sentences on their own. Common mistakes made by German speakers will also be highlighted. Students are expected to be able to recognize and select the appropriate tense in a final exam.
