Content

Conservation genetics and conservation biology, gentic variation and adaptation, genetic pecularities of small populations, hybridization and the concept of metapopulation, prospect and limitations of genetic markers, management of gene resources.

Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

Based on basic knowledge teached in lecture (405.025 VU), an advanced understanding of forest genetical principals and in conservation biology with special emphasis on those factors that contribute to species persistence and enable sustained use of forest ecosystems is the



objective of this lecture.
