Selection of the topic according to the suggestion of the supervisor: Fluid Flow; Filtration; Centrifugal Separation; Membranetechnology; Ionexchange; Evaporation - Crystallisation; Drying; Process Chromatography; Extraction; SCE. Maximum 8 persons are dealing with the selected topic; literature search and summary; performing the trials in pilot-scale; preparation of a scientific protocol.
- Previous knowledge expected
recommended but not mandatory:
Lecture Fundamentals of mechanical engineering
Lecture Process Engineering
- Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)
After successful completion of the course the students know different unit-operations from practical point of view and are able to better understand theoretical correlations. Due to experience of the students working with plants in pilot scale, the students are able to design simple processes and to link real technical and economical aspects into the concepts. In addition the students are able to search scientific literature and write a scientific protocol.
