Content

Based on the lecture Introduction to Ethnobotany (933.015) in this seminar the application of ethnobotany in various fields (food, drinks, medicine) is investigated through excursions to distinguished ethnobotanical businesses in Vienna and literature review.

Good knowledge of English language, Participation in the lecture Introduction to Ethnobotany 933.015 is recommended

Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

Gain experience in team work.
In depth-understanding of applications of ethnobotany in every-day life through excursions to distinguished ethnobotanical businesses in Vienna (Henzel’s Ernte, Xaver Bier, Babettes).
In depth-knowledge of ongoing ethnobotanical research through literature review
Gain skills in participant observation and documentation techniques
Discussion and presentation skills
