The course takes place from 11 - 22 September 2017.

Introduction into the German Language with cross-cultural competence.
The “Intensive German Course - Beginners” is for students who speak no German and focuses on cultural aspects of studying and living in Austria.

Course content:
Basic grammar, such as verb conjugation in present tense, personal pronouns, possessive pronouns, definitive and indefinitive articles, singular and plural form of nouns, modal verbs .
Basic vocabulary and topics including:
-Giving information about yourself
-Home, family, filling in forms
-Asking and obtaining information
-Leisure, hobbies, preferences, interests
-Restaurant / Shops
-Time / Numbers
-Objects of daily life

Learning materials: handouts from the language instructor.

Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

The aim of the course is to introduce incoming students at BOKU to the German language and to teach the basics in written and in spoken German.
