Overview of the most important forest pest insects and their natural enemies taxonomy and pathology. Bionomics and epidemiology of the most important pest insects in Austrian forests. Basic background for the manipulation and control of forest pest insect populations.

Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

Basic knowledge in forest entomology. Insects as forest pests; introduction to their biology and damages. Understanding causes and interdependencies of pathological events in forests.
