"E3" as a result on the English entrance test or successful completion of English II.

Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

Band 5-6 (Modest to Competent User) according to IELTS (0-9)

English III will work with the textbook, Focus on IELTS. The course aims to cover chapters 1-5 from the book. Individual or group presentations (depending on the size of the class) will take place during the semester and presentations skills will be covered as part of the class curriculum. The aims of English III also include: improving your spoken proficiency and your understanding of authentic texts both written or spoken. English III as well as the succeeding English IV aims to prepare students for Fachsprache as well as to familiarise them with IELTS, which is quickly becoming the most widely used English testing system for academic and immigration purposes.

Requirement for the course:

Positive completion of English II or assessment test
