This excursion to AGES (Austrian Food Safety Authority) allows the students to visit laboratories and other facilities at the AGES site in Spargelfeldstrasse (Vienna). Further, AGES experts will present and discuss actual food safety topics with them.
- Previous knowledge expected
The lecture food microbiology as well as the exercises in food microbiology are important requirements to understand the discussed context. Discussion activity of each student is mandatory.
- Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)
After this course the students have a better understanding about the work of a routine laboratory as wells as of the work flow in a food safety authority. The discussion with AGES experts allows a better integration of the food safety facts learned at the university.
