Some
basic Info
This server contains information of interest to both local people in
the Institute of
Chemistry at
the University of
Agricultural
Sciences Vienna and to other people throughout the world (and even
NMR spectroscopists!). Some of the information might be of interest to
other chemists wanting to know something about what goes on here.
Here you find out what to do if you are interested in recording spectra,
have a look at our instrumentation and topics of our work.

Specific items
- A shareware NMR simulation package for PCs called
Perch The author now
has a really nice
WWW page
.The software is available from this WWW page as well as from nic.funet.fi
- Gifa - A
multipurpose unix program for the
processing, display and analysis of 1D, 2D and 3D NMR data. Here is a direct link to the ftp
site.
- XNMR A shareware
NMR processing program for Unix workstations running Mosaic.
- PRONTO/3DA
newly available (unix
based) freeware package for the analysis of NMR of proteins mainly.

Peter Lundberg's Compilation of
Educational NMR
Software (Contains links to files in ASCII, HTML and Word
formats) There is also a
stripped-down ascii
version also obtainable by ftp at

FTNMR simulation software package a very helpful tool in education.
We use ISIS/Draw from MDL
Information System Inc. They are now offering the full ISIS/Draw package on the
Internet and it's free of charge for academic or home use. Here is the link.
For information about NMR books see here and Davis Library
Reference a very helpful
source.
The Larmor Letter is a free on-line newsletter for announcements
of NMR, MRI, and EPR equipment for sale, wanted, or for trade. This newsletter is
distributed freely to all concerned,
and there is no charge to list your announcement. There are no restrictions as to whom may
submit announcements.
To submit an announcement for MR equipment available or wanted, send a brief description
of the equipment to
.Include the name of a contact person, and their email address and
phone/fax number.
- The NMR NEWSLETTER, a monthly collection of brief reports of current NMR
interest. The Newsletter, which has been published continuously for 37+
years, consists of 40-50 pages in each of the 12 monthly issues a year.
What subjects
are covered?
All areas of NMR interest, including imaging. Coverage includes applications, theory, results,
instrumentation, queries, opinions, book reviews, lists of NMR meetings, notices of
equipment available or wanted, the occasional cartoon, and whatever else the authors wish.

homepage.
EUROPEAN INITIATIVE for TRAINING in NMR
An
International Scientific Commitee has been formed to adress matters of training in NMR at
research student level on a European Union basis, in order to optimise the available expertise.
It is planned to institute a series of courses on various aspects of NMR. These will generally
last between 4 and 6 days and will consist of lectures, seminars, problem-solving and, in some
cases, practical experience. Each course will have its own director (who will have an
international reputation in the area of NMR c oncerned), plus three-four other lecturers
(generally from different European Union countries) and assistants.
The European Initiative for Training in NMR announces a Summer
School on Modern NMR Spectroscopy in Organic Chemistry to
be held at the Jugendbildungsstaette Marienburg at D-56859 Bullay/Mosel,
Germany, situated above the Mosel valley at the site of an old castle. For
more information about this course
